Care Instructions for KAINO knits


Kaino knits will stay in a good condition when you take care it well. In this page you can find detailed care instructions and useful everyday information about merino wool, alpaca wool and organic combed cotton knits. Our warranty doesn’t work in a cases when knits are wrongly washed, badly cared or not properly stored.

Care instructions for ALL KAINO knits

  • No wash required before first use. Does not contain any contaminants.
  • Hang your knit outside to refresh it. Wash it only when needed.
  • Stubborn stains can be removed with a gall soap.
  • Follow product-specific washing instructions.
  • Close all the zippers, strings and buttons and turn inside out before washing.
  • Use a bleach-free and preferably ecological detergent.
  • After washing, gently stretch back to its original shape and put it to dry.

Care instructions for ORGANIC COMBED COTTON knits: 

  • Machine washable.
  • Wash in 40˚C with similar colours. Wash Reusable Cotton Pads in 60˚C.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • Only gentle spin cycle.
  • After washing, stretch back to its original shape and put it to dry.
  • If the knit is made from both merino wool and organic cotton, please follow the care instructions for merino wool knits.

Care instructions for MERINO WOOL knits:

  • Hang your knit outside to refresh it. Wash it only rarely. Smell and dirt doesn´t stick to merino wool easily, so merino knits rarely needs a wash.
  • Some of our merino wool knits are hand washable and some are machine washable with a wool and hand wash program for max. 40˚C. Product-specific washing instructions are marked for each product in the online store.
  • Use a gentle spin cycle.
  • Prefer eco-friendly wool detergent.
  • Do not use fabric softener.
  • Do not tumble dry.
  • After washing, gently stretch back to its original shape and put it to dry.
  • Merino wool knits are best to dry horizontally on a towel.
  • Do not dry merino wool knits in a sunlight or close to a heating source.
  • When not in use, protect merino wool knits from moths and beetles (guide down below).
  • If the knit is made from both merino wool and alpaca wool, please follow the care instructions for alpaca wool knits.

Care instructions for ALPACA WOOL knits:

  • Hang your knit outside to refresh it. Wash it only rarely. Smell and dirt doesn´t stick to alpaca wool easily, so alpaca knits rarely needs a wash.
  • Hand wash max. 40˚C.
  • After washing, gently stretch back to its original shape and put it to dry.
  • Alpaca wool knits are best to dry horizontally on a towel.
  • Do not dry alpaca wool knits in a sunlight or close to a heating source.
  • When not in use, protect alpaca wool knits from moths and beetles (Guide down below).

   

Keep moths and beetles away from merino wool knits


MADE FROM PURE MATERIALS: You don’t need to wash Kaino knits before use. The merino wool and alpaca wool used in Kaino knits is not made with insecticide or any else surface treatment agent. Therefore You need to storage KAINO wool knits well.


STORAGE and PROTECTION: If you are not going to use your wool knits for a while, store it in an air tight plastic bag or in a closable plastic container.


FREEZING: Before putting to storage, freeze your wool knits in a freezer or outside in a winter. Heavy frost and more than 3 hours is needed, best overnight. This protects and kills possible moths and beetles and leaves it fresh for a new use.

 

Our warranty doesn’t work in a cases when knits are wrongly washed, badly cared or not properly stored.
